One of the parents accusing singer R. Kelly of holding his daughter captive in a Georgia home is encouraging Kelly to sue him.
In an interview
with gossip blog TMZ, Timothy Savage, father of Joycelyn Savage,
repeated his claims that Kelly brainwashed his daughter and is holding
her captive as part of a sex cult in a Duluth, Ga. home.
Timothy Savage accuses Kelly of housing a “sex cult” of women in his
rented home, where he controls everything they do and limits their
communications with the outside world.
But Joycelyn denied the allegations in a cell phone video published by gossip website TMZ on Monday.
Timothy alleges his daughter is being prevented from telling anyone
where she is and challenged Kelly to sue him over his allegations.
“You want to know the reason why Miss Jocelyn Savage didn’t tell you
where her location at? She’s not allowed to tell you her location,” he
said, adding, “Mr R. Kelly, if you want to file a lawsuit you should’ve
filed it yesterday. I’m waiting on you. File the lawsuit. If that’s what
you want to do I’ll see you in court, file it so everybody can see your
dirty laundry.”
The allegations were first reported by Buzzfeed blog on Monday. The
writer quoted two former associates of Kelly who stated he was holding
as many as six women against their will at a home in Georgia and at his
recording studio in Chicago, Il.
According to the Washington Post,
they allege that the women, ranging from an 18-year-old singer to a
31-year-old “den mother,” are required to refer to Kelly as “Daddy” and
must ask for permission to leave the properties.
Kelly vigorously denied the allegations through his lawyer on Monday.
One reporter knocked on the door at Kelly’s rented house in the Sugar Mill subdivision in Duluth, GA. But no one answered.
Gwinnett police also knocked on the door to make a welfare check, but they found nothing illegal.
