Better put that "Academy Award winning actress" before her name the next time you say it, because Regina King just got.her.things. Watch our fave flourish with her first Oscar win inside!
Regina King kicked off the most magical night in film with the first Oscar win of the night: Best Supporting Actress for If Beale Street Could Talk!
The stunning Golden Globe and 3-time Emmy winner looked angelic in a white Oscar de la Renta gown as she hit the carpet at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood as a nominee. Now, after 34 years as an actress, she's officially an Oscar winner.
She becomes the 8th black woman to win Best Supporting Actress, and she saluted the iconic artist and poet James Baldwin - whose prose was adapted into the Beale Street film - as she tearfully accepted her Award.
She revealed, "I'm an example of what it looks like when support and love is poured into someone."
She got all the love from Spike Lee and co-star Stephan James before the win, too:
Congrats, Regina! Well deserved.
