Friendship goals AF. Spike Lee won his first Oscar, and it was presented to him by one of his (pretty much) Day 1's Samuel L. Jackson.  Get into their hilarious moment on the Oscars stage inside.
It was a long time coming, but he finally got one!
After dragging Spike Lee about his Knicks losing as he took the stage to present, Samuel L. Jackson had good news for Spike as well. He and the BlackkKlansman crew won for Writing - Best Adapted Screenplay!
Sam & Spike go way back - Sam had tons of minor roles after getting his start in 1974,  up until his breakthrough role as Gator, a crack addict, in the 1991 Spike Lee film Jungle Fever.
Now, 28 years later, they're together on the Oscars stage.

Spike was up for Best Director and Best Picture for BlackkKlansman but didn't win those categories.  The 2015 Academy Award Honoree was happy as pie about his win, as he should be.  And he had a Trump & Do The Right Thing laced acceptance speech to boot.
