Taraji P. Henson seems keen to dominate on the TV and at the movies too.
The actress swaps the comedic sass of
‘Empire’s Cookie Lyon for an altogether more high-action affair in
Screen Gems production ‘Proud Mary.’
Henson plays a hit woman whose life is
totally turned around when she meets a young boy who awakens a maternal
instinct in her that she never knew she had.
A release date for the film (which also stars Danny Glover) has yet to be set, but to whet appetites a trailer has been unleashed.

‘Proud Mary’ comes on the heels of Henson’s much praised performance in ‘Hidden Figures.’
The year ahead will be uber busy for the 46-year-old, who is starring in Tyler Perry’s ‘She’s Living My Life’ and Disney’s ‘Wreck It Ralph 2.’
