Following his public feud with country singer Miranda Lambert, Chris Brown is getting in the ring with another celebrity. The R&B superstar and WWE champion CM Punk got into a heated exchange online.
Just a day after releasing the remixes to"Birthday Cake" and "Turn Up the Music" with Rihanna, Brown lashed out at those who criticized his musical reunion with his ex-girlfriend.
“You are not GODS to judge us. U have no say! Positivity & LOVE! My fans make a difference!” he tweeted.
One of his most outspoken critics has been CM Punk, who initially called out the singer in a tweet on February 19. “I would like @chrisbrown [to] fight somebody that can defend themselves,” he wrote. “Me curb stomping that turd would be a #wrestlemania moment.”
Brown fired back on Twitter, accusing Punk of taking steroids. “@CMpunk needs more followers,” he said. “He’s such a leader! Not to mention the roids hes on has made it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women. … @CMpunk contact my assistant and I’ll have em send u an autographed pic for my biggest FAN!!!”
The accusation prompted a video response from the wrestler. “I never intended to include Chris Brown’s name in one of my tweets to start some sort of a controversy or gain publicity,” explained Punk, who is a member of the Straight Edge lifestyle, which means he refrains from using alcohol and drugs. “Now that he’s thrown accusions my way about using steroids, I feel the need to reply.”
He addressed Brown’s 2009 assault on Rihanna. “I don’t hit women, period,” said Punk. “In my world, women are to be revered and respected and I firmly believe that in this life, there are consequences and repercussions for people’s actions and I don’t think Chris has paid for what he’s done.”
Additionally, he challenged him to a fight. “So Chris wants to throw stones my way now, and I say that’s fine, but put some gloves on and get in the ring. I will choke you out and I will make you feel as weak and as powerless and scared and alone as any woman who has had the misfortune of knowing a sad, cowardly little boy such as yourself.”
After watching the video, Breezy responded. “@cmpunk the video u just posted was cute! It’s so funny how defensive u are,” he tweeted. “And the fact that I really don’t know who you are and could give a shit is the funny part! I really hope this 15 minutes of fame is paying you for the long run becuz music last forever! Wrestlers come and go according to ratings!”
