Whoa!: 50 Cent Drops 70 Pounds

Curtis Jackson has went beyond the call of duty to make sure Hollywood knows he's serious about his acting career.

In the film Things Fall Apart, Curtis's character is a lean, mean, football running back machine who falls victim to cancer--a total flip on 50 Cent's aspiring body builder physique he's displayed on many shirtless occasions throughout his career . To prep for the part, he had to dropped over to 160 lbs. under a strict liquid diet with some treadmill exercise.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Various news outlets are reporting wacky figures on the approximate amount of pounds he's shed for the flick. I've seen 70, but the article in USWeekly has Curtis saying 54 lbs. Either way, this is what we'll be seeing on the big screen when the movie hits theaters.

Uh...wow. Yeah, so from the looks of it, he went the Christian Bale route where he practically starved himself into a skeleton for his role in The Machinist.

Curtis commented on his photos on his site ThisIs50.com “I was starving,” he said, “I’ve been eating. I’ll be back in shape in no time!”

His physique underwent quite a transformation, but he looks too mature to be a college student. Nonetheless, the film is being financed through his production company Cheetah Vision with his business partner Randall Emmitt. Money speaks louder than a leading seasoned actor, I guess. The film will also star Mario Van Peebles, Lynn Whitfield, comedian Mike P and Steve Eastin.

Cheetah Vision plans to co-finance and self-finance three to five films a year. The company wrapped up production on their latest film The Gun starring Val Kilmer, AnnaLynne McCord and, of course, Curtis in Michigan earlier in the year.
