Although his family-themed reality series, FatherHood, came and went when it appeared on E! a few years ago, Snoop Dogg has no hard feelings against the television executives who cancelled the show.
The show lasted two seasons but was axed in 2008. On Larry King, Snoop noted that he was proud of the show because it showed the world how well behaved his kids are.
In fact, he believes those positive elements to the show are what led to its cancellation.
He explained:
“I believe the show was too positive and too enlightening. They wanted some drama. You gotta understand, I’m Snoop Dogg so you want confusion, you want destruction, but my house is not like that. My wife does a great job running my house and my kids so it’s a beautiful situation.”
Snoop has since signed with MTV to develop more programming.
I have to say I agree with Snoop on this. With his rap career and noted penchant for smoking weed, I’m sure programming execs assumed they would get a lot more of Snoop than well-mannered children and a wife who didn’t want to clown on TV.
Maybe Snoop’s show was just on the wrong network. Reverend Run managed to score with his show and there was never any real drama on Run’s House.
Or possibly it was just boring given a previous review of the show was entitled “Snoop Doggy Yawn.”
