Remembering Big Pun 10 Years Later

Yesterday marked 10 years since hip-hop lost one of its most talented rappers and the culture hasn't been the same since.

When Big Pun still had the strength to lyrically whip anyone's tail, Fat Joe and the Terror Squad crew reigned supreme. They never let you forget that they represented The Boogie Down Bronx and always reminded you that they were bilingually fierce in the mic. Those were the good ol' days...

These days, the infamous Terror Squad is scattered out farther than roaches in the light. Fat Joe is in Miami getting his career together, Remy Ma is Tweeting from her eight year bid in prison, Cuban Link is disgruntled by Fat Joe's business ethics, Triple Seis is, well...who knows what he's up to, Tony Sunshine is doing whatever he's doing and the others are probably somewhere in the Bronx.

The demise of the Terror Squad crew is the typical Hip-Hop story that starts off like a fairytale but doesn't end well. But at least we still have the music--that lives on forever. The life of Christopher "Big Pun" Rios will never be forgotten thanks to his extensive discography. Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg cooked up a mean three part Big Pun tribute that fans will love.

For you young hip-hop fans who have no idea who Big Pun is, now is your time to get educated.
