Designer Alexander McQueen Dies

Very sad news on the first day of New York Fashion week: British designer Alexander “Lee” McQueen, was found dead in his London home this morning.

According to reports McQueen committed suicide, it is believed that he hung himself. The designer’s death comes just days after his mother passed away. His contemporary line McQ, was scheduled to be shown at New York Fashion Week today, but the presentation was canceled. McQueen’s Paris collection was scheduled to be shown on March 9th.

Extreemly tragic news for such a talented and young person. Alexander McQueen was truly one of the world’s top fashion designers and you’d be hard pressed to find a red carpet where at least one celebrity wasn’t wearing one of his innovative dresses, shoes or other clothing staples. His fashionista following includes a long list of celebrities including Beyonce, Rihanna, Ciara, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, Amerie, Estelle, Mary J. Blige and even First Lady Michelle Obama.
