Beyonce & JAY-Z Mocked for Giving Away Free OTR II Tickets

European fans who paid for expensive tickets to see Beyonce and JAY-Z’s On The Run II stadium tour could find themselves standing next to concertgoers who received free tickets or ticket upgrades.

According to The Sun newspaper, promoters are giving away free OTR II tickets in parks and on the streets, as the American power couple struggles to fill seats in half-empty stadiums.
Fans outside their Glasgow concert tweeted that promoters were giving away free tickets to fill stadium seats.
“TOUR LOSERS Beyonce and Jay-Z tickets given away for free in a car park as On The Run II tour flops” reads the headline in The Sun‘s Tuesday morning edition.
The paper notes that the “superstar couple have thousands of unsold tickets for their UK dates, forcing them to cover large sections of seating in the stadium venues.”
Stadium workers at Hampden Park erected gigantic monitors and dark curtains to block out the empty side of the stadium.

Promoter Live Nation reportedly warned Bey and Jay not to book large stadiums for their joint tour, particularly after JAY-Z struggled to fill smaller arena seats during his previous solo tour.
But an arena tour is considered a downgrade to Beyonce’s fragile ego. The 37-year-old mother of three apparently believes she still has the star power to fill stadiums forever.
Hundreds of seats remain available for Wednesday evening’s concert at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium and for the 66,000-capacity London Stadium on Friday, The Sun reports.
The promoters spent millions on Beyonce and JAY-Z’s stadium tour, but only 9 of the 48 dates in Europe and North America have sold out.
Tickets range in cost from $68 to $633 for a VIP standing pass in the Club Carter section nearest the floating stage.
