Ice Cube Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Ice Cube and Dr. Dre

Today was a good day for Ice Cube, the hometown hero who earned a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Just days before his 48th birthday, the Don Mega took the podium for the special honor, celebrating his career by looking back at those who helped him along the way.
“It’s a great day,” he said. “I want to thank everybody in the city of Los Angeles, the city of Hollywood, anybody that had anything to do with me getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I really appreciate it.
“You don’t get here by yourself,” he continued. “When you’re coming up doing music, movies, just trying to be creative, you never figure you’ll be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame one day. So today is not really about Ice Cube, it’s about all the people who helped me get here.”

On what’s been deemed Ice Cube Day, the South Central rapper thanked his parents, siblings, wife, and children. He also celebrated many of his partners in the entertainment world, including Dr. Dre, WC, MC Ren, DJ Yella, Sir Jinx, Yo-Yo, Lench Mob, DJ Pooh, and John Singleton, among many others. Many of the stars he mentioned, including the remaining members of N.W.A, were in attendance for the occasion.
