There are a lot of things more important than lounge singer Beyonce pouring thousands of dollars worth of premium champagne into a hot tub during a music video.
But Beyonce’s latest attention-seeking stunt comes at a time when she and her aging mogul husband Jay Z desperately need the support of poor, working class people to save their failing TIDAL app.
At $10,000-$20,000 a bottle, Beyonce’s shameful stunt pretty much
negates the $20,000 they are rumored to have paid writer dream hampton
to supposedly bail misguided Baltimore youths out of jail.
If they had decent high school educations, Bey and Jay would realize
their many failings before they made headline news and crushed their
integrity.
Do better, Beyonce and Jay Z.
From Cosmopolitan:
Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj released a music video for their new song “Feeling Myself” earlier this week — you’re forgiven if you haven’t seen it yet, because it’s exclusively on TIDAL (womp, womp). There’s a fun little hot tub party scene towards the end of the video, and in a photo outtake released Tuesday, Bey’s pouring a bottle of champagne into the tub — maybe it’s as good to bathe in bubbly as it is (allegedly) to bathe in red wine, or something? Or perhaps, given her expression, someone peed in the tub and she’s looking to sterilize it, fast.
As it happens though, Bey’s husband Jay Z owns the company behind Armand de Brignac, so the bottles here are almost certainly freebies sent to the boss (not to mention a solid inter-video advertising plug). So it’s not necessarily a representation of glib monetary excess — at least any more than your average music video these days — but it is still a waste of good champagne and that is a real shame.
