Whitney Houston’s only child, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, was found
unresponsive in a bathtub at her Roswell, GA., home Saturday morning, ABC News reports.
Brown was found by her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend in the
bathroom of her home in the Ellard subdivision. She was submerged face
down in a tub full of water.
A source close to the family said Brown was not breathing and had “no
vital signs” when she was pulled out of the tub. Gordon immediately
started CPR until paramedics arrived on the scene and started emergency
resuscitation.
The source confirms that Bobbi Kristina was transported to North
Fulton hospital near Atlanta, where she never regained consciousness
and, in fact, doctors believe she is brain dead.
Brown was placed on a mechanical ventilator in intensive care to support her breathing as she is unable to breathe on her own.
‘Unresponsive’ in medical terms means a person is not alert and does
not respond to verbal or tactile (touch) stimulation, or a person whose
vital signs and brain activity are not within normal range to sustain
life.
Bobbi’s mother, Whitney, was found drowned in a bathtub at the
Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11, 2012. The coroner ruled Whitney’s
death an accidental drowning. Drugs were found in her system.
Brown’s father, R&B singer Bobby Brown, is at the hospital with other family members.
