R&B singer Ginuwine reluctantly confirmed rumors that he is separated from his wife of 11 years, American rapper Tonya M. Johnston, aka Solé.
In a social media post, Ginuwine, whose real name is Elgin Baylor
Lumpkin, confirmed that he and Solé were separated, and they have no
money to hire divorce lawyers, so they are working toward ending their
marriage “amicably” and “fairly” without lawyers. The singer stressed
that he and Solé were not yet divorced.
Lumpkin and Solé have two daughters together, Dream Sarae Lumpkin,
12, and Story, 13. Lumpkin also has a 22-year-old son Elgin, Jr., in
addition to at least 5 other children by various baby mamas.
Sources say Solé was fed up with Ginuwine’s cheating ways. Thankfully
she waited until her children were old enough to understand that
sometimes — well, most of the time, marriages simply don’t work out.
Though women believe they are entitled to keep a man all to themselves, Nature has other plans.
By spreading his seed generously among the female population, Lumpkin
is only doing what God intended men to do: be fruitful and multiply to
ensure the survival of the human species.
