On Monday, top Nigerian artiste, Rotimi Goziem Martins
popularly known as Alariwo of Africa, was attacked by some gunmen in
Ibadan, Oyo State. The singer, who announced this on his Facebook page,
disclosed that he was returning to Oluyole Estate in Ibadan with one
Kenny Aiyeola, founder of Winnes Castle Orphanage, when the armed
robbers attacked him.
When contacted by Nigeria website over the incident, the veteran singer explained that he was shot four times by the hoodlums.
According to Alariwo, "I run an orphanage home with my sister (Kenny Aiyeola), which is located behind (Yinka) Ayefele's house (in Ibadan). I was going home with my sister after a busy day, and before we could close the gate, some men came out with guns and I quickly put my car on reverse and sped off.
"My car hit the gate in the process, but I escaped with four bullet wounds."
Meanwhile, Alariwo confirmed to Nigeria web that he has been discharged from the hospital.
