“I’m just trying to get her back,” Thicke told TMZ as he arrived in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
Earlier this week, the singer and actress announced their separation in a joint statement. “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they told PEOPLE.
TMZ claims that the breakup was triggered by Thicke’s racy performance with Miley Cyrus at the 2013 VMAs. According to their sources, Paula felt “utterly disrespected” by his antics. However, Robin told TMZ that is not true.
Following their split, Robin canceled the first few dates of his tour, which resumes tonight at D.C.’s Patriot Center.
In a statement on his website, he thanked his fans for their support. “I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days,” he said. “My fans mean everything to me. I’m looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington, D.C. this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!”
