YG Calls On Tyga, Snoop Dogg, & Polow Da Don for Def Jam Debut

YG

YG is bringing some West Coast flavor to his upcoming Def Jam debut. The Compton native has joined forces with Snoop Dogg and Polow Da Don, and has his sights set on collaborating with a hip-hop legend.

The rapper, born Keenon Jackson, is currently touring with Tyga, who appears on his single “Snitches Ain’t…” The record, which also features Snoop Dogg and Nipsey Hussle, is already top 10 on L.A. radio station Power 106.

He’s enlisted some big names and up-and-coming producers for his first Def Jam release. “I’m not even trippin’ over who everyone is working with—the sound is what I’m focused on,” YG tells Rap-Up.com. “I just collaborated with Polow on a track, which is big. I’m hoping to work with Dr. Dre, and of course, Snoop.”

YG also plays a supporting role in the teen dramedy We the Party starring Snoop and directed by Mario Van Peebles, which is set for a limited release in April. While he takes on a lighthearted role in the film, his ultimate dream is to play the thug that everyone loves.

“I don’t wanna be the bad guy, but the bad guy,” he muses. “Not on that devil-type shit, but the type that’s on a mission and doin’ whatever I gotta do to get that, like Scarface.”
