Fantasia Barrino is about to be a baby mama once again. The “American Idol” champ has revealed that she is pregnant with her second child.
Amidst rampant rumors that she was with child, the 27-year-old singer confirmed the big news at a charity gig for the grand opening of Riverview Apartments in Jacksonville, Fla., on Sunday (July 31).
“You are the first person that I share this news with,” Fantasia told the crowd. “And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk.”
She continued, “This child that I carry, God has given me this child. And I don’t have to hide it from none of ya’ll.”
The father of the child has not been revealed, but Fantasia has been romantically linked to Antwuan Cook. The pair made headlines last year after Cook’s wife alleged that the two were having an affair.
Fantasia has a 10-year-old daughter named Zion Quari Barrino from a previous relationship.
Drake: ‘Stevie Wonder Is on ‘Take Care”
Drake is making major moves on his sophomore album. October’s Very Own has nabbed a collaboration with the legendary Stevie Wonder for Take Care.
Backstage at his OVO Fest in Toronto on Sunday, the Canadian hip-hop star made the big announcement. “Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine. I’m honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business,” he told MuchMusic, adding, “Stevie Wonder is actually on Take Care.”
The two got a chance to work together in the studio and developed a rapport. “He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience,” shared Drizzy.
So all he had to do was pick up the phone when he wanted Wonder to perform at Sunday’s OVO Fest. “So I hit him, asked him to come by, and with no hesitation he hit me back like, ‘I will be there,’” said Drake. “Not only that, but he was supposed to do two songs and he did like six. It was incredible.”
Hear what their collaboration sounds like when Take Care drops on October 24.
