Kanye West performed at The Museum of Modern Art in New York last night and we have pics of him performing inside.
Last night, Kanye West performed at the 2011 MoMA Party In The Garden Benefit honoring Patricia Phelps De Cisneros, Mimi Haas, Jill Kraus and Sharon Percy Rockefeller.
And according to the NY Times, the artist gave one of his most moody performances ever,
"For most of the 45 or so minutes that he’d been onstage, Mr. West had been moody, dour, even irritated at points, a star who enthralled even at low wattage."
Then as he performed songs like "Good Life" and "Runaway" he threw in ad-libs like, After “Thank you for loving me when they told you not to love me,” and “I’m sorry about anybody out there that had to fight for me.” He also asked, “Do you know what it feels like to be hated, do you know what it feels like to be degraded?”
And while seeming diconnected at some points with his hoodie pulled over his face, he surprised the audience when Jay-Z joined him to perform "H.A.M." and "Empire State of Mind."
But there were some happier moments during the show. At some point, he talked about his mom and said. “I know she’s smiling down.”
