Usher Raymond is the latest celebrity to join Beyonce and Mariah Carey in donating the money that he received performing for a member of the Gaddafi family to charity. Deets inside...
Usher reportedly received $1 million when appeared at the same event as Beyonce on the island of St. Barts, which was funded by Mutasim Gaddafi, Muammar’s fourth son. The "Confessions" singer claims he was unaware of the link to the Libyan dictator’s family saying:
“I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart’s event that took place on New Year’s Eve 2009,” said Usher. “I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations.”
He has already donated a portion of the money to Amnesty International.
“Usher’s donation will support this urgent work to counter the brutal conditions imposed by Gaddafi and other leaders across the Middle East,” said the human rights organization.
It's good to see Usher and other celebs making good on their donations and changing lives.
NEW MUSIC: 50 CENT- "COME OVER TONIGHT"(07 LOST TAPE
50 Cent mines the vaults for his leftover track “Come Over Tonight,” originally intended to feature Usher. The guitar-laced joint, recorded in 2007, is geared toward the ladies, boasting rhymes about inviting his freaky girl over for a nighttime rendezvous.
“Girl, you already know I want you/ I have you doing the things you said you won’t do/ When you done playing games, you can come through/ And be a freak for me baby, girl come over tonight,” coaxes the hip-hop impresario on the previously unreleased jam.
