New Song: Cheryl Cole – ‘The Flood’

As the November 1st release date of Cheryl Cole’s sophomore LP ‘Messy Little Drops’ draws nearer, its promotional machine has cranked up a gear – with the premiere of its second single ‘The Flood’.

Take a listen to the track after the jump…

Needless to say, the song is the dryness.com.

It really begs the question, though: despite having the multi-million pound machine behind her, why can’t Ms. Cole deliver solid material?

Clearly, the label are pumping money into her imaging and the producers she’s working with, yet perhaps it’d be money better-spent if they actually invested in some vocal lessons for her. They’re much needed. For once again, she sounds shrill and off-key many a time here. It’s as if she’s hell-bent on sounding like a raging hot mess. Then again, who wouldn’t be, if they knew they could do that and still go on and sell by the bucket-load. Welcome to the music industry 2010…
