Jennifer Lopez’s career has been issued another lifeline. The singer/actress has literally just been confirmed as a judge on American Idol.

The announcement came via Idol host Ryan Seacrest, who revealed that the hit show’s latest shake-up will see Lopez, and Aerosmith front-man Steve Tyler join sole original judge Randy Jackson on the panel.
Needless to say, this is the career resuscitation the mother of two could have only dreamed of just months ago. With a new label to boot (Def Jam), and now Idol, Ms. Lopez may be set to stage a major comeback.
