Weezy F. Baby called into Hot 97 from Rikers Island for a brief interview with Funkmaster Flex earlier this week.
He quickly plugged his weezythanxyou web site, shared that he only “listens” to sports (not music) and reassured his fans he’ll be home in November. Shouts to Karen Civil. She’s the young lady Weezy bigged up for updating his site. [Listen to Interview Here]
This guy is the most omnipresent jailed rapper ever. A lot of MCs have complained about their crews not holding them down during their incarceration, but you won’t be hearing that from Wayne. Thus far, he’s’ been visited by Drake, Diddy and Fat Joe just to name a few. He’s still popping up with new leaks on the blogs and maintaining a presence on the cameo circuit. Though it doesn’t really feel like he’s gone away in some ways, he’s scaled back just enough to create this void for his fans. Anticipation for Tha Carter IV should be sky high by the time he’s released from Rikers in November.
