Can Miami get any hotter than what it already is? Yes, it can. Thanks to Def Jam's newest group Git Fresh, everyone will get a taste of what Miami Rap/Pop has to offer. Pretty $ly, Penny, and Rude Boi sing over the classic Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner" sample talking about bringing a girl they met at Club Living Room back to their own living room. The song is definitely catchy and if you've enjoyed a Flo Rida song or two at one point, then you'd dig what Git Fresh is doing.
Miami is a hub for cultural diversity and Git Fresh is no different: Pretty $ly is South African (Left); Rude Boi is African-American (Center); Penny is White (Right). Together, the trio sealed their fate with Def Jam after wowing Def Jam Chairman L.a. Reid with an a capella performance in his office in 2009. Now the group is aiming to make the best party album ever made.
“We like to go out and have fun,” says Rude Boi. “That’s who we are. We’re young guys in the prime of our lives and our album is definitely a party album, it’s all about the ladies. We don’t even like to consider ourselves as R&B, we just make good music. The sound is new and fresh, it’s something that you wouldn’t expect to hear from a three man group that’s just crooning.”
Take a listen to their song "She Be Like" and let us know if this is something you'd play in your playlist...
