LIL BOOSIE TO FACE DEATH PENALTY?

A grand jury indicted Torrence "Lil Boosie" Hatch on Thursdsay in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with first-degree murder charges for the death of Terry Boyd, 35, who died from shots fired through his home window by two men. 

These men, Michael Louding and Adrian Pittman, were hired by Boosie to execute Boyd and the amount of money Boosie paid is still unknown. Both men faced indictment earlier this month related to Boyd's murder, but police feel Boosie, Pittman, and Louding have a possible connection to five other murders that occurred in a 14-month period in the area. 

"We're investigating the others in a similar fashion," East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III said. "We are investigating the common pattern of these killings and money."

On top of first-degree charges, Boosie was indicted for multiple drug-possession charges that involved his girlfriend and two other people who consipred to smuggle controlled substances into the prison Boosie was being held in since November for a probation violation.

Boosie, already imprisoned since November for a probation violation, was also indicted on Thursday on multiple drug-possession charges and for an alleged scheme to smuggle illicit substances into the jail where he is being held. The Advocate reported that Boosie; girlfriend Walnita Decuir, 25; former correctional officer Joshua Wilson, 27, and fellow inmate Stacey Riley, 36, were all indicted on charges that they conspired to smuggle contraband, which included drugs such as codeine, marijuana, ecstasy and synthetic marijuana — into Dixon Correctional Institute, where Boosie is being held.

In September, Boosie pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge and under a plea deal a judge was expected to sentence him to 10 years in prison with all but the first two years suspended, which would mean he'd be eligible for parole in one year. But after Boosie violated the terms of the deal in November by leaving his house during confinement, the judge doubled the term.

Now, Moore told the paper, he is going to ask the judge to revoke the deal and resentence Boosie to the original 10-year term.

Currently, Boosie cannot post bond with a first-degree murder charge and will remain in prison while the cases move forward. However, a district attorney said the Boyd murder could give Boosie the death penalty.
