Someone apparently thought it was a good idea for Dame Dash to relaunch Roc-A-Fella Records. His name is Curren$y.
According to MTV, Dame plans on resurrecting the legendary label with Curren$y as its signature act.
“I think we just having fun, really,” Dash told MTV. “[Curren$y] inspired me to dust off the chains. We brought ‘em out for kicks, just ’cause we could. Then we was like, ‘F— it, let’s put it out through Roc-A-Fella.’ It was really more something he wanted to do. Basically, ’cause we havin’ such a good time, and the opportunity’s there, we was like, ‘Why not?’ ”
I wonder what Jay-Z thinks about that. Who gets to throw the diamond sign up now? I’m not sure it’s legally possible being that the Roc was sold to Def Jam a while back. All due respect, but as a Roc-A-Fella fan, I have no interest in seeing Dame launch a revamped Roc-A-Fella without Jay and Biggs involved. What do y’all think?
