Lil Wayne isn’t letting go of his bling bling just yet. Wayne was initially slated to report to Riker’s Island to begin his 12 month jail term earlier this week. But according to reports, Weezy has temporarily dodged that bullet due to a dental emergency.
News of Weezy's dental problems had many speculating on him possibly removing his diamond-encrusted grill. According to Wayne’s legal rep, Stacey Richman, the Grammy Award-winning spitter will keep the grill intact.
Though reports have suggested Wayne’s dental surgery will tend to a cracked tooth, Richman, however is unaware of the specific dental procedure that is scheduled to take place before Wayne reports back to a judge on March 2nd.
While the surgery could’ve been done before the February 9 sentencing, Richman explained that Weezy’s dentist was called to take care of a last minute charity matter out of the country.
In the meantime, Wayne will get a couple more weeks to spend time with family, record more material for a plethora of upcoming projects and celebrate the success of his rock project, “Rebirth”. The album landed at no.2 on the Billboard 200 and scored an impressive 175,000 copies in its first week.
