That’s right Songz – the critics don’t live it. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t understand the nonsense that you have been making. Think about this: Clive Davis is not a singer yet he was brilliant enough to critique Whitney Houston’s song choices and guide her toward legend status.
The fact is that the critics help to keep artists grounded and focused on improving their craft. In today’s industry, sales aren’t always reflective of the quality of the material (see: Rihanna) and if you’re hoping to have staying power in this business then you need to be a more well-rounded act.
