Patient With Ebola Symptoms in Washington D.C.

A patient who recently traveled to the U.S. from West Africa is being treated for Ebola-like symptoms at Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C.

NBC Washington reports that a patient was admitted to the hospital in stable condition on Thursday. The patient is being kept in strict isolation until test results come back.

“In an abundance of caution, we have activated the appropriate infection control protocols, including isolating the patient,” said hospital spokesperson Kerry-Ann Hamilton in a statement. “Our medical team continues to evaluate and monitor progress in close collaboration with the CDC and the Department of Health.”

Thomas Eric Duncan, the first case of Ebola diagnosed on America soil, remains in serious but stable condition at Texas Presbyterian hospital in Dallas.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper spoke with Duncan’s girlfriend, Louis, who said the CDC has not kept their promise to remove Duncan’s contaminated bed linen, clothes and towels from her North Dallas apartment.

Louis is holed up in the apartment with her 13-year-son and 2 nephews for 21 days. None of them have symptoms of Ebola.
