Mariah Carey Throws Shade at Nicki Minaj, Praises Beyoncé on ‘WWHL’

Mariah Carey knows how to throw some serious shade. The star of E!’s upcoming docu-series “Mariah’s World” proved that yet again during her return visit to Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” on Tuesday (May 17).

In her latest appearance, the recently-engaged singer was asked about her previous claims that she doesn’t know J.Lo. “Apparently, I’m forgetful,” she said.
Then, when asked if Lopez seems “cool,” Mariah responded: “I don’t know her. What am I supposed to say? I’m not gonna put on a thing like, ‘We’re all Hollywood. Let’s pretend we’re all best friends because we’re in that land.’ It’s no offense to anybody.”
Last month, J.Lo addressed talk of a rivalry with MC on “WWHL.” “I don’t have a feud against her at all,” she said at the time. “I know from back in the day, I’ve read things that she’s said about me that were not the greatest, but we have never met. Like, we don’t know each other. I think it’s kind of from word of mouth of things that have happened in the past that I’m not really aware of. But I don’t know.”

The shade continued when Mariah’s longtime foe Nicki Minaj came up. When asked if she could say three nice things about the rapper, MC remained silent. “Can you?” she asked.
“You know, I always felt it was more important, with that situation, to not plead the fifth, but to just stay above the fray,” she added. “Because you don’t want to be déclassé. You just want to move it along.”
Back in 2013, Nicki addressed her relationship with Carey. “Imagine someone that you loved your whole life,” she said. “Imagine you meeting them and then all of a sudden feeling like you did something horrible to them but you just don’t know what you did. That’s what my relationship with Mariah is, and that’s what it’s been from the beginning.”

While she may not be a Nicki or J.Lo fan, Mariah is a member of the BeyHive. “I love Beyoncé, she knows this, most people know that,” said MC. “I’m a fan, I love her. We have fun together, she’s a fun person, she’s really cool.”
She also addressed rumors of a collaboration with Queen Bey. “Are we collaborating? I don’t know. We have never talked about it,” she said. “I would love to do a collaboration with her.”
